Tips to avoid AIME test anxiety and perform well in your exam

Proper AIMEprep will help you get rid of exam test anxiety. Anxiety is normal for everyone but it should not prevent you from passing your AIME test. While it is normal to feel nervous before your test, some people find anxiety disabling. Inability to concentrate, racing thoughts or feelings of dread can easily combine with physical symbols such as headache, fast heartbeat or nausea. Here are some effective tips to help you combat exam anxiety.

Be prepared

This seems obvious but a lot of people repeat the same mistakes over and over. If you feel confident that you have prepared properly, you will be more confident when you walk into the exam room. If you need help reviewing the concepts you learned in class, you can seek professional help for AIME preparation.

Get quality sleep

Some students spend the whole night scramming but this will never help you in your AIME test. You should have adequate sleep to keep your brain fresh and energetic. Denying yourself enough sleep will lead to fatigue and this can make you nervous during the exam.

Fuel up

You should eat well before the test. You will need energy during the exam. You should look for foods that offer great nutrients and avoid foods that will make you bloat. Bloating will only make you more nervous.

Know how the questions are set

Before sitting for the exam, you should be conversant about how the questions are set. You do not want to get into an exam room and get confused about where to begin.

Have positive thoughts

After proper AIME prep, you should have positive thoughts and confidence that you will pass the exam. The more confidence you have, the less nervous you will be. This is good because you are likely to remember everything about the exam.
